Workshops in Seattle will take place the weekend of April 20 - 21 2013 at the Phinney Ridge Community Center and at the Century Ballroom.

To start things off, there will be a Kizomba / Bachata social at Salsa N Seattle with a beginner lesson. Details can be found on facebook.

1:30 - 2:00 Registration and Welcome
2:00 - 3:00 Kizomba Foundations
3:00 - 3:15 break
3:15 - 4:15 Kizomba Foundations 2
4:15 - 4;30 break
4:30 - 5:30 Kizomba Foundations 3
5:30 - 6:00 Wrap up
Foundations classes will focus on walking, basic figures and movement and is appropriate for any level of dancer. The classes will be taught in a progression with content adjusted based on the level in the class.

Kizomba Patterns 1 and 2 are not progressive and will exercise the foundations that were taught on Saturday. Taking these classes will require previous kizomba experience or attendance to the Saturday workshops.
Iris will not be available for privates due to her short stay.
Who is Iris De Brito?
A two-time UK Salsa Champion (1999 and 2003), Iris teaches in the UK and around the world. She's originally from Angola, a country in the south west of Africa. She trained at "The London Studio Centre" and with the late William Louther (one of the original members of the Alvin Ailey company. Iris has also worked with "Badejo Arts" and "Kokuma Dance Company". She is trained in Jazz/Contemporary/Street Dance & Salsa Dance.“I believe you can't put me in a box. I've enjoyed learning and performing to different styles in Dance in my career so far and have used all these influences in my movement expression. Perhaps my mixed heritage has reflected greatly in my Dance interpretation. Society's multicultural background has clearly mirrored why the appeal of Salsa Dance & Music is not just a fashion fad. Meanwhile, Dance is still evolving and styles evolve with it. I'd like to share my knowledge through my work and hopefully add a valuable contribution to Dance in the UK whilst inspiring others".
